Reflex Aerospace expands seed round by 1.75 million euros

Bayern Kapital is investing in the satellite start-up, which is opening a micro factory in Munich this year. A demo satellite is to be launched in fall 2024 with a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and will be supported by the Starburst Accelerator.

Space start-up Reflex Aerospace has increased its seed funding by 1.75 million euros, bringing the total investment volume to almost 9 million euros. In addition to existing investors, Bayern Kapital is also participating via its EFRE Bayern innovation fund. As one of the investors in the venture and growth sector of German high-tech financing, Bayern Kapital will support the company in setting up the first Micro Factory near Munich.

Reflex Aerospace, with sites in Berlin and Munich, is accelerating its plans for a commercial space mission to mark its second anniversary. The company's demo satellite has booked a firm rocket launch slot on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket for fall 2024. The main objective of the mission is to validate new technologies in space for the first time. At the same time, the demo satellite weighing around 120 kilograms is currently under development and is being assembled in the newly opened 'Micro Factory' in Munich, which will open its doors for the production of customer-specific satellites this year.

The NewSpace start-up is aiming for a further increase in seed funding over the course of the year due to expected commercial orders. The Starburst Accelerator will support Reflex Aerospace's international business as a partner, particularly in the USA and France. Reflex Aerospace was founded in 2021 and aims to modernize the market with high-performance and customized satellites. The company is also a shareholder in the UNIO joint venture, which aims to build a European satellite constellation for broadband internet.
