Making district heating networks more efficient and greener: Zentur.io receives seven-figure seed funding from Bayern Kapital and Enpulse Ventures to further develop its AI-based SaaS solutions

Landshut, 12 June 2024 - Zentur.io, a startup specializing in the digitalization and decarbonization of district heating networks, has successfully closed a seven-figure seed financing round. Bayern Kapital and Enpulse Ventures GmbH participated in this round. The financing comes from Bayern Kapital's ERDF II innovation fund, which supports start-ups in regions outside the greater Munich area. The funds will be used to expand the team, product development and market expansion.

The startup

Zentur.io, founded in 2021 by graduates of Landshut University of Applied Sciences, uses a manufacturer-independent and consumer-centric approach to collect data from consumer meters, which must be remotely readable by 2026. This data enables more precise calculations to be made across the entire district heating network and offers greater transparency for consumers and suppliers. As a result, optimizations such as the reduction of heat losses and more efficient use of primary energy can be implemented, which also reduces CO2 emissions.

Our goal is to make the district heating supply more digital, customer-centric and greener and thus accelerate the 'district heating transition'.

Michael Detke, Co-Founder and CEO of Zentur.io

Pilot projects already completed

With an AI-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution, Zentur.io enables the efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly management of district heating networks. The "District Heating AI" supports energy suppliers from the planning and construction of new networks to the integration of renewable energy sources.

With its 'District Heating AI', Zentur.io has developed a solution that enables operators of heating networks to design their networks efficiently and sustainably. With Bayern Kapital Innovationsfonds EFRE II, Enpulse and EnBW, Zentur.io is backed by a strong consortium.

Monika Steger, Managing Director of Bayern Kapital

Zentur.io has already completed pilot projects and won several innovation competitions. The new funds will be used to expand the team and sales capacities as well as to launch new products and acquire additional customers, particularly energy suppliers and municipal utilities.
