Reflex Aerospace expands seed round by 1.75 million euros

Bayern Kapital is investing in the satellite startup, which is opening a micro factory in Munich this year. A demo satellite is scheduled for launch in fall 2024 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and is backed by the Starburst Accelerator.

Space startup Reflex Aerospace has expanded its seed funding by €1.75 million, bringing its total investment to nearly €9 million. In addition to existing investors, Bayern Kapital is also participating through its EFRE Bayern innovation fund. As one of the venture and growth investors in German high-tech financing, Bayern Kapital will support the company in setting up its first micro factory near Munich.

Reflex Aerospace, with locations in Berlin and Munich, is accelerating its plan for a commercial space mission on the occasion of its second company anniversary. The company's demo satellite has booked a permanent rocket launch site for fall 2024 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The main goal of the mission is to validate new technologies in space for the first time. At the same time, the demo satellite, which weighs around 120 kilograms, is currently under development and will be assembled at the newly opened `Micro Factory' in Munich, which will open its doors for the production of customer-specific satellites later this year.

The NewSpace start-up is seeking a further increase in seed funding during the year due to expected commercial order intake. Starburst Accelerator will partner Reflex Aerospace to support its international business in the future, especially in the US and France. Reflex Aerospace was founded in 2021 and aims to modernize the market with high-performance and customized satellites. The company is also a shareholder in the UNIO joint venture, which aims to build a European satellite constellation for broadband Internet.
