Staffbase wants to make Dresden its second headquarters

The Chemnitz-based start-up Staffbase is on the rise: it recently raised €10 million and has now moved into larger premises in Dresden and plans to make the Saxon capital its second headquarters.
The start-up Staffbase was founded in Chemnitz in 2014. In 2016, it expanded its locations to include New York, and Dresden will also be joining in 2017. And they have big plans for the city: "Dresden can and should become a kind of second headquarters," says co-founder Frank Wolf in an interview with Founderella. Staffbase was previously based in Prager Straße, but has now had to move to larger premises in the heart of the city center for logistical reasons. There are currently 62 employees working at the Dresden site, but this number is set to increase. Staffbase employs around 300 people in total, with the newest locations currently being Leipzig and Berlin.
Staffbase creates simple communication for company employees through intranet and apps. Customers include Adidas, Audi and MAN. Staffbase moved to Dresden primarily because of the TU, from which the start-up hopes to recruit specialists: "We are still looking for technical profiles for software development in particular," says Wolf. It was only in October that Staffbase acquired the Berlin-based company Teambay, which aims to integrate employee surveys into the Staffbase offering. In this context, the start-up received 10 million euros from its existing investors such as Insight Partners and Eventures. Since its launch in 2014, 30 million euros have flowed into the Chemnitz-based company. Almost 70 percent of the shares are held by investors, the rest by the founders.
