Staffbase wants to make Dresden its second headquarters

Chemnitz-based start-up Staffbase is on the rise: it recently raised €10 million, and has now moved into larger premises in Dresden, where it plans to make the Saxon capital its second headquarters.

In 2014, the start-up Staffbase was founded in Chemnitz. Already in 2016, it expanded its locations to include New York, and as of 2017, Dresden is also part of it. And they have big plans for the city: "Dresden can and should become a kind of second headquarters," says co-founder Frank Wolf in an interview with Founderella

. Staffbase was previously based in Prager Straße, but has now had to move to larger premises in the middle of the city centre for logistical reasons. Currently, 62 employees work at the Dresden location, but there are plans to increase the number. In total, Staffbase employs around 300 people, with Leipzig and Berlin currently the newest locations.

Staffbase creates easy communication for employees of companies through intranet and apps. Customers include Adidas, Audi and MAN. Staffbase was drawn to Dresden primarily because of the TU, from which the start-up hopes to attract skilled workers: "We are continuing to look for technical profiles for software development in particular," says Wolf. It was only in October that Staffbase bought the Berlin-based company Teambay, which is to integrate employee surveys into Staffbase's offering. In the deal, the startup received €10 million from its existing investors, including Insight Partners and Eventures. Since its launch in 2014, 30 million euros have flowed into the Chemnitz-based company. Almost 70 percent of the shares are held by investors, the rest by the founders.
