The Berlin-based start-up is receiving the sum from its existing investors. The money will be used to expand the service and expand into other countries.
Viewing exam questions, creating flashcards online, uploading manuscripts and printing them out free of charge: Charly from Berlin offers this and so far over 400,000 students across Germany have taken part. According to Gründerszene, the start-up has now received a financial injection of three million euros from its existing investors,
The money will be used to expand its own database, which has been providing exam questions and answers from 51 German universities and colleges since the end of January and can be expanded by the students themselves. Charly also wants to expand into other countries.
Business angels have already invested in the start-up in the past, including Daniel Schütt, founder of the continuing education platform Masterplan, and Michael Brehm, head of the AI start-up i2x.
Charly was founded in Berlin in 2016, at that time still under the name PrintPeter. The company was renamed after the accidental death of co-founder Karl Bagusat, who had the nickname Charly.
