Unicorn Wayflyer comes to Germany

The Irish start-up wants to help e-commerce companies obtain financing - and there are already a number of German start-ups that arrange such financing.

The Irish financing platform for e-commerce companies Wayflyer is expanding to Germany, according to Tech EU reports. In addition to the German market, the company now also wants to gain a foothold in Sweden, Belgium and Denmark. The expansion follows a Series B financing round of 150 million US dollars in February this year and the latest debt financing from Credit Suisse and J.P. Morgan totaling 553 million US dollars.

Aidan Corbett and Jack Pierse founded Wayflyer in 2019. The start-up has set itself the task of helping e-commerce companies with their financing. A whole range of German start-ups also offer such services for companies, albeit across different sectors. These include Finmatch and Compeon, for example. Wayflyer also offers analysis options that companies can use to optimize their supply chains and evaluate their marketing performance. These services will now also be available to German e-commerce companies.

"Germany, Sweden, Belgium and Denmark are markets that have experienced a boom in the e-commerce sector in recent years, and we are delighted to be able to offer our current products and services to new customers there," Corbett is quoted as saying by Tech EU.
