Exclusive: True Motion sells 100,000 shoes

The start-up's products are designed to provide better protection against running injuries. Four years after its foundation, the Cologne-based company has now reached a milestone.
The running shoe start-up True Motion has announced that it has reached a milestone: in February, it sold its one hundred thousandth pair of shoes. This was achieved despite a number of obstacles in the recent past, as Commercial Director Christian Arens explains: "Closed factories or exploding freight costs - we have had to overcome coronavirus-related difficulties in the supply chains time and again recently." Nevertheless, the expansion into new markets was successful and the 100,000 shoe mark was reached.
Arens founded True Motion in 2018 together with Gert-Peter Brüggemann and Andre Kriwet. The company's shoes are based on a technology that does not interfere with people's natural movements and is therefore designed to reduce the risk of running injuries. The start-up has so far done without external investors.
In addition to Germany, True Motion is now also represented in the UK and the Benelux countries. In addition to the first model, called Nevos, it now has three other shoes on offer.
