Getir is now also available in Germany

The Turkish company is regarded as a pioneer of 10-minute grocery delivery services and is valued at 7.5 billion euros. The service has been available in Berlin since yesterday.
Currently, 10-minute grocery delivery services such as Gorrilas are making rather negative headlines, which could benefit the new competitor: The Turkish provider Getir is now also available in Berlin. Back in April, the company announced its intention to come to Germany and be represented in ten locations within two years. Getir is now launching in the capital in the districts of Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Neukölln, Prenzlauer Berg, Schöneberg and Steglitz.
Getir is pioneering the idea of delivering groceries to your home within ten minutes (or less), which are ordered in advance via an app. Transport is provided by couriers on bicycles. Founded in 2015 by Nazim Salur, Serkan Borançili and Tuncay Tütek, the company raised 550 million US dollars in its last financing round at the beginning of June and is worth 7.5 billion euros, according to the company. Getir is currently mainly available in Turkey, but also in London, Amsterdam and now Berlin. The company plans to enter the US market before the end of this year.
