Gorillas apparently wants to take over delivery service Frichti

The Berlin delivery service is facing its first takeover of a French competitor. There are no exact details of the potential deal yet.
The Berlin start-up Gorillas is apparently planning to take over the French food delivery service Frichti, according to the news portal Bloomberg reported. There is no deal yet, but the takeover negotiations are well advanced.
Both Gorillas and Frichti focus on delivering food to customers within a short period of time. With the takeover of the French start-up, Gorillas would become one of the most important providers of same-day delivery in Paris. Gorillas is already represented in five French cities. Kağan Sümer, CEO of Gorillas, explains according to the news agency that Frichti is particularly attractive due to its experience in developing private labels and ready meals.
Frichti was founded in Paris in 2015 and supplies around 450,000 customers in France and Belgium with food. The start-up also develops its own products such as beer, cookies and eggs. According to Frichti, it has raised around 100 million euros since it was founded. Investors include Alven Capital, Felix Capital and Verlinvest.
