Healthtech Cera expands into Germany

The British care service provider starts its international expansion by entering the German market.
The British healthtech Cera is expanding into Germany. Cera Germany is starting with 50 employees and will provide care services in Berlin and the surrounding area. "We are looking forward to expanding our presence in Germany and working with the UK team to continue Cera's mission of using technology to enable older and vulnerable people to live longer and better lives in their own homes," said Niklas Bruns and Falk Dietze from Cera Germany. Germany is facing major challenges in the care sector, which could be overcome with Cera.
Ben Maruthappu and David Behan founded Cera in 2016. According to the company, it organizes 40,000 care visits in the UK every day. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the demand for care workers has increased so much that the company's growth has increased by a factor of 100 in the last two years.
With the Cera app, nursing staff can monitor certain vital parameters of patients. These include, for example, the user's sleeping patterns and nutrition. According to the company, this allows health deteriorations to be detected up to 30 times faster than with conventional methods. The app also advises nursing staff on possible medical measures.
