The British care provider starts its international expansion by entering the German market.

British healthtech Cera is expanding into Germany. Cera Germany is starting with 50 employees and will provide care services in Berlin and the surrounding area. "We are looking forward to expanding our presence in Germany and working with the UK team to continue Cera's mission to enable older people and those in need of care to live longer and better in their own homes through the use of technology," said Niklas Bruns and Falk Dietze of Cera Germany. Germany, they said, is facing major challenges in care that Cera can help address.

Ben Maruthappu and David Behan founded Cera in 2016. By its own account, the company organizes 40,000 care visits in the UK every day. They say the Corona pandemic has increased demand for caregivers so much that company growth has increased by a factor of 100 in the last two years.

The Cera app allows caregivers to monitor certain patient vital signs. Among them, for example, users' sleep patterns and nutrition. According to the company, this allows health deterioration to be detected up to 30 times faster than with conventional methods. The app also advises caregivers on possible medical measures.
