Her One raises €5.5 million

The start-up Her One focuses on dietary supplements that are designed to work from the gut into the body. It is aiming at a very specific target group.
Chanyu Xu, the founder of the start-up Her One, wants to score points with nutritional supplements for women. The Berlin-based start-up has now raised 5.5 million euros in a Series A financing round. Paris-based venture capitalist Five Seasons Ventures is leading the round, along with existing investors Rheingau Founders and IBB Ventures, who together had already invested 4.5 million euros in Her One. According to founder Chanyu Xu, the company's turnover grew by 815% in 2020, although she does not provide absolute figures.
Her One currently offers its products in the DACH region. The company wants to use the money to expand and grow its team. In addition to intestinal supplements, the start-up also wants to develop other products for topics such as sleep and hormone balance.
Xu is encouraged by the fact that more and more venture capitalists and funds are focusing on business ideas that primarily target women, she told the portal Sifted. She herself founded Her One for precisely this reason. Because food supplements are developed by men for male bodies and needs, Xu wants to target the other half of the population.
Her One's products focus on microbiomes that are designed to improve health, skin appearance and metabolism from the gut. Founded in 2017 under the name One Labs, the company is Xu's fourth start-up.
