Ineratec receives 20 million euros

The start-up intends to use the money to expand its production capacities for CO2-neutral fuels and chemicals, among other things.
Karlsruhe-based start-up Ineratec has raised investments of 20 million euros from a Series A financing round. The energy supply group Engie, the technology group Safran and the Hamburg-based Münchmeyer Petersen Steamship Group (MPC) joined as new investors. Engie and Safran both come from France: the French border is just 20 kilometers away from Karlsruhe. The existing investors are Extantia, Planet A, High-Tech Gründerfonds, FO Holding and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Ineratec offers sustainable solutions for the aviation, shipping, automotive and chemical industries. The start-up wants to make these sectors less dependent on fossil fuels with e-fuels - and expand production capacities for CO2-neutral fuels and chemicals faster and more strongly to achieve this. The investments are intended to help with this.
"This is a huge boost for our company. We will provide sustainable, affordable e-fuels and materials for everyone," says CEO and founder Tim Böltken. Eric Dalbiès from Safran adds: "Ineratec's cutting-edge technologies will strengthen the technical expertise needed to develop a certified process for aviation."
