Competitor Liveperson buys the Munich-based start-up. The founders will continue to run their company independently.

The Munich-based provider of conversational AI E-Bot7 is being acquired by its competitor Liveperson from the USA. Liveperson claims to be the leading company in this field. The company intends to strengthen its presence in Europe with the takeover. The parties involved have not disclosed the purchase price in a joint announcement. E-Bot7 is to remain operationally independent. The more than 100 employees will be taken over. The three founders Fabian Beringer, Xaver Lehmann and Maximilian Gerer will continue to run E-Bot7.

Conversational AI is used for communication between companies and customers, including in the form of chatbots. These can automatically accept complaints and solve problems in a similar way to a chat with humans. "We are delighted that the talented team from E-Bot7 is joining Liveperson. Together, we can drive and expand conversational AI at the world's biggest brands," explains Robert LoCascio, CEO and founder of Liveperson.

E-Bot7 was founded in 2016 and offers companies an easy-to-integrate AI platform. Liveperson already has more than 18,000 customers, including HSBC, Orange and GM Financial.
