Leapsome expands into the USA

The Berlin start-up opens a location in New York. Today, 20 percent of its turnover already comes from the United States.
The Berlin-based HR start-up Leapsome wants to expand its US business and is opening a location in New York. Even without its own office in the United States, the young company has apparently already generated 20 percent of its turnover there. "The software market in the USA dominates worldwide and many companies there are already focusing more strongly on the potential of people enablement than in this country," says Marc-Alexander Vetter, who is responsible for expansion at Leapsome, to Fundscene. The start-up wants to significantly increase its market share with its own local team. Co-founder Jenny von Podewils wants to move from Berlin to New York for this purpose.
Von Podewils founded Leapsome together with Kajetan von Armansperg in 2016. With their start-up, they have developed a platform with which they want to strengthen the empowerment of employees. It is designed to help companies develop a corporate culture that motivates employees and thus improves their performance. For example, managers can use it to give their employees feedback, set personal goals and train new team members.
In March, the start-up raised 60 million US dollars in its Series A financing round. The money came from venture capitalists Insight Partners, Creandum and the Visionaries Club.
