The developer of launch vehicles for satellites wants to raise 25 million euros in a financing round.

There are currently over 2,800 satellites in space, and the number is rising. The start-up Rocket Factory develops launchers to get them into space. It has now announced that it is launching a financing round. The start-up, which was founded by the OHB technology group, aims to raise EUR 25 million. In addition to OHB, investors include Apollo Capital Partners as well as employees and management. Some private investors are also involved.

The start-up wants to build particularly inexpensive rockets and micro-launchers. "With freight costs of EUR 3 million per launch, we will offer the market by far the cheapest product in the world," said Hans Steininger, founding investor of Rocket Factory, confidently announcing the start-up's goal at OHB's Capital Market Day. Founded in 2018, Rocket Factory aims to bring the first launch vehicle to market in 2022. The start-up is currently building prototypes of the engine for the rockets.
