Isar Aeropace wins microlauncher competition

The start-up Isar Aerospace was able to prevail against HyImpulse and Rocket Factory and receives eleven million euros.
Isar Aerospace is on course for success: as recently as December 2020, the start-up raised 75 million euros
, and in early 2021 it announced that the first rocket could be launched from Norway as early as 2022. Now, Isar Aerospace has taken first place in the German Space Agency's microlauncher competition. As a result, the start-up will receive eleven million euros. Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier (CDU) also congratulated.Together with HyImpulse and Rocket Factory Augsburg, Isar Aerospace had qualified for the main round in July 2020: "I am excited about three start-ups that all have the potential to disrupt European space travel," said jury chairman Thomas Jarzombek. The three start-ups then had to further elaborate their concepts, for which they received 500,000 euros. Winner Isar Aerospace develops rockets that transport satellites into space.
The microlauncher competition promotes companies that commercially produce launchers that can transport up to a few hundred kilograms. It is organized by the German Space Agency at the German Aerospace Center.
