Spacelink buys from Mynaric

The US space company wants to use the components from the Gilching-based start-up for its satellite network. Further orders could follow.
The laser technology start-up Mynaric has concluded a lucrative deal: As the company from Gilching announced, it will supply components to the US company Spacelink in future.
Specifically, Mynaric's laser-based communication technology will enable simplified communication in space, where conventional transmission paths reach their limits. The order has a total volume of up to 28 million US dollars. Spacelink wants to build a global communications network that enables data transmission outside the Earth's atmosphere. To this end, the Washington, D.C.-based company is now building a satellite network that also requires the Mynaric parts.
"Our industrialized production approach will allow us to meet the growing demand as the Spacelink constellation grows," said Tina Ghataore, CCO of Mynaric, pleased with the contract signing. The start-up had already signed a framework agreement with Spacelink in May. Mynaric hopes to conclude further supply agreements on this basis in the near future.
