Rocket Factory is looking for investors
The developer of launch vehicles for satellites wants to raise 25 million euros in a financing round.
More than 2,800 satellites are currently in space, and the number is growing. The start-up Rocket Factory develops launch vehicles to get them into space. Now it announced to raise a round of financing. The start-up, founded by the technology group OHB, wants to raise 25 million euros. In addition to OHB, investors so far include Apollo Capital Partners as well as employees and management. Some private investors are also involved.
The start-up wants to build particularly low-cost rockets and microlaunchers. "We will make the market by far the cheapest offer worldwide with EUR 3 million in freight costs per launch," Hans Steininger, founding investor of Rocket Factory, confidently announced the start-up's goal at OHB's Capital Market Day. Founded in 2018, Rocket Factory aims to launch its first launch vehicle in 2022. The start-up is currently building prototypes of the engine for the rockets.
