The Munich-based start-up has entered into a sales partnership with an Indian company. The aim is to penetrate the Indian aerospace market.

Mynaric's sights are set on India. The aerospace technology start-up has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian tech start-up JR Aerospace to gain a foothold in the far-flung market. According to the declaration, they plan to work together in sales, Mynaric will become the exclusive provider of laser communication technology for JR Aerospace and in return, the Indian company will explore potential business relationships and lobby organizations and the Indian government.

The Munich-based company is a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center and is dedicated to data transmission by laser instead of radio. "India's domestic demand for broadband coverage for consumers via satellite constellations is enormous," says Bulent Altan, CEO of Mynaric. "The country also has an emerging aerospace sector to provide new technical capabilities to commercial and government players." The start-up also hopes that the cooperation will optimize its own international supply chain.
