Windeln.de is wound up

The search for an investor has apparently failed. The platform for baby supplies is now to be discontinued.
The insolvent platform for baby supplies Windeln.de is being wound up. The company filed for insolvency last October after no new round of financing was found. The Munich Local Court has now opened insolvency proceedings for the company's assets.
According to Windeln.de, the insolvency administrator Ivo-Meinert Willrodt was unable to find any investors despite numerous discussions with interested parties. A sale is planned in the coming weeks and months. The company will then be shut down.
Founded in 2010 by Konstantin Urban, Alexander Brand and Dagmar Mahnel, the company specialized in the sale of baby and children's products. The e-commerce platform's core markets were Germany, Austria, Switzerland and China. When Windeln.de went public in 2015, it was valued at around half a billion euros. Most recently, it was just under five million.
