The search for an investor has apparently failed. Now the platform for baby supplies is to be discontinued.

The insolvent platform for baby supplies Windeln.de is being wound up. The company already filed for insolvency last October after no new round of financing materialized. The Munich Local Court has now opened insolvency proceedings against the company's assets.

According to Windeln.de, insolvency administrator Ivo-Meinert Willrodt was unable to find investors despite numerous talks with interested parties. A sale is planned in the coming weeks and months, he said. Subsequently, the business is to be shut down.

Founded in 2010 by Konstantin Urban, Alexander Brand and Dagmar Mahnel, the company specialized in the sale of baby and children's products. The core markets of the e-commerce platform were Germany, Austria, Switzerland and China. At the time of its IPO in 2015, Windeln.de was still valued at around half a billion euros. Most recently, it was only just under five million.
