Major wingcopter order could fail

12,000 drones for Africa: what was supposed to be Wingcopter's biggest order is now apparently on the verge of being canceled.
In May, Wingcopter announced its largest order to date: the start-up was to deliver 12,000 of its drones to Africa over five years to deliver vital goods such as medicines. To this end, Wingcopter entered into a partnership with Continental Drones, a subsidiary of Atlantic Trust Holding. Now, according to information from world could fail.
The start-up has deleted the project from its website. Wingcopter has not yet commented on this. However, the company is looking for partners and investors, Wingcopter co-founder and Managing Director Tom Plümmer confirmed to the Welt am Sonntag. The existing investors are nevertheless staying on board. They had not based their valuation on the project anyway, as the investors were unsure whether the unknown partner Atlantic Trust would be able to finance such a large order.
Wingcopter only completed a 42 million US dollar financing round in June. The Rewe Group, Salvia and Xai Technologies joined as new investors. Other investors include Expa, Itochu, Futury Capital and Xplorer Capital.
