e.Go considers IPO - and loses its founder

The almost insolvent e-car start-up is taking off again and apparently wants to go public. Founder Günther Schuh is no longer with the company. He is leaving the company.
The car manufacturer e.Go has been through turbulent times: first, the start-up from Aachen had to file for insolvency last year and was then taken over by the Dutch investment company ND Industrial Investments. Now the start-up is apparently also considering an IPO, reports the online portal Ecomento. However, further details are not yet known.
Sales will also start and production will begin in July. This involves the special edition e.Go Life Next electric car, a small car. The first cars should be on the roads as early as the summer. Two other cars are also planned, a minibus and a van.
The Aachen-based start-up recently received a financial injection of 30 million euros. Among others, Formula E founder Alejandro Agag and US actor Edward Norton, who will also be the brand ambassador for the electric speedster, invested in the company, while founder Günther Schuh is leaving the company, reports WDR. He was able to win over the Dutch investors during the insolvency last summer, but stepped down as Managing Director. "The time has now come for Prof. Schuh to focus again on his institutes and his work as a professor at RWTH Aachen University," it says in a statement. No other reasons for the departure are known. However, Schuh will remain associated with the company, according to the statement.
