FlixTrains are rolling again

The first trains will run from May 20, and the start-up plans to travel to 16 new cities: The Flixtrain brand is back in the game.
FlixTrain will resume operations on May 20 and has immediately expanded its range of services: the start-up plans to serve 16 new cities, connecting 40 locations to the route network. There will also be a night line from Munich via Berlin to Hamburg from June. "We are putting additional trains on the rails and want to send a clear signal: Train travel must be possible for everyone," says co-founder André Schwämmlein. Bavarian cities in particular are new to the network. The trains have also been redesigned and are equipped with Wi-Fi and guaranteed seating.
The FlixtTrains have been at a standstill since November. The company behind the trains is FlixMobility, based in Munich, which also sells the Flixbuses. The trademark is the light green lettering. FlixMobility does not buy its own trains and buses, but plans the routes and organizes the marketing.
So far, nine trains are in operation. "We want to make green mobility accessible to as many people as possible. It is a milestone for us that we are now bringing FlixTrain to Bavaria and have thus connected all regions of Germany to our train network," says Schwämmlein. New routes include Stuttgart-Berlin up to four times a day and Hamburg-Berlin up to eight times a day.
