Flixbuses start rolling again

Neither the green buses nor Flixmobility trains have been running since November, but the company will resume bus operations on March 25. The Flixtrain will then start for the summer vacation. The company also announces a change in management.

Flixbuses will be running again in time for Easter. Journeys will be offered from March 25, and bookings can already be made now. For the time being, the buses will be traveling to 40 cities on popular routes, including Berlin, Munich and Hamburg. Flixmobility had discontinued its Flixtrain and Flixbus services in November 2020.

For the resumption, the company behind the green buses and trains has taken special precautions for the Flixbuses: contactless check-in, thorough cleaning and disinfection before each journey, and guests also receive disinfectant. The buses are also equipped with new filter systems which, according to the company, filter up to 99 percent of aresols. If there is high demand for a journey, Flixbus will provide an additional bus in order to spread out the journeys. Customers can also view the capacity utilization of their journey in advance.

Trains will also be running again for the summer vacation. Flixtrain trains will be running from June 24 at the latest, and tickets can also be booked now.

And there is another personnel change at Flixmobility: the company will have a new CFO from April 1. Christian Rummel has many years of experience at Siemens, where he held various management positions. The current CFO Arnd Schwierholz is leaving Flixmobility after four years to move back to his family in his home country, as the company writes.
