Flixbuses start rolling again

Since November, neither the green buses nor trains of Flixmobility have been running, but from 25 March the company will resume its bus operations. The Flixtrain will then start for the summer holidays. The company also announces a change in management.

Flixbuses will be running again just in time for Easter. From 25 March, the trips will be offered, a booking is already possible. For the time being, the buses will travel to 40 cities on popular routes, including Berlin, Munich or Hamburg. Since November 2020, Flixmobility had stopped offering its Flixtrain and Flixbus services.

For the resumption, the company behind the green buses and trains has taken special precautions for the Flixbuses: a contactless check-in, thorough cleaning and disinfection before each trip, and guests also receive disinfectant. The buses also get new filter systems that filter up to 99 percent of Aresol, according to the company. If demand for a trip is high, Flixbus will make another bus available to equalize the trips. Customers can also see the load factor of their trip beforehand.

The trains will also be running again for the summer holidays. Flixtrain trains will be running from 24 June at the latest, and tickets can also be booked now.

And there is another personnel change at Flixmobility: as of April 1, the company will have a new CFO. Christian Rummel brings with him long experience at Siemens, where he held various management positions. The current CFO Arnd Schwierholz is leaving Flixmobility after four years to move back to his family in his home country, as the company writes.
