FlixTrains are rolling again

The first trains will start running on 20 May, and the start-up plans to serve 16 new cities: The Flixtrain brand is back in play.

From 20 May, FlixTrain resumes its operations and has immediately expanded its offer: 16 new cities want to serve the start-up, so 40 places are connected to the route network. There will also be a night line from Munich to Hamburg via Berlin starting in June. "We are bringing additional trains onto the rails and want to send a clear signal: Train travel must be possible for everyone," says co-founder André Schwämmlein. Bavarian cities in particular are new to the network. In addition, the trains are redesigned, equipped with WLAN and a seat guarantee.

FlixtTrains have been at a standstill since November. Behind the trains is FlixMobility, based in Munich, which also distributes the Flixbuses. The trademark is the light green lettering. FlixMobility does not buy its own trains and buses, but plans the routes and organizes the marketing.

So far, nine trains are in operation. "We want to make green mobility accessible to as many people as possible. For us, it is a milestone that we are now bringing FlixTrain to Bavaria and have thus connected all regions of Germany to our train network," says Schwämmlein. New routes include Stuttgart-Berlin up to four times a day and Hamburg-Berlin up to eight times a day.
