Gorillas leave Belgium

The delivery service is closing its Belgian warehouses. Business in Italy, Spain and Denmark is also on the brink.
After almost a year, Gorillas is withdrawing from Belgium. According to information from Gründerszene the fast delivery service has already closed most of its warehouses. Around 200 employees at the site in Belgium are affected by redundancies.
The Belgian online delivery company Efarmz is taking over parts of Gorillas' business. According to the Handelsblatt these are local business analysis solutions and some of the administrative staff. Efarmz is also taking over Gorillas' customer base. Customers from Brussels can already order via Efarmz, and this will also be possible in the Flanders region from September. The companies have agreed not to disclose the exact purchase price.
The Italian, Spanish and Danish markets are also on the cards. According to Gründerszene, Gorillas is currently examining strategic options for these locations and is looking for buyers to take over all or part of the business. It is still unclear what will happen in these countries. However, the business in Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands and New York City is not affected.
