Online supermarket Knuspr delivers first figures

The subsidiary of Unicorn Rohlik has been operating in Germany since last year. The initial figures are promising and the expansion plans are ambitious.
Eight months after its launch, the online supermarket Knuspr is taking stock of its locations in Munich and the Rhine-Main region: according to its own figures, the company has gained over 50,000 customers in Munich since its launch in September last year and receives more than 3,000 orders every day. The range comprises 12,000 products. Due to the high demand, Knuspr has now expanded its delivery area to include the cities of Erding, Freising and Augsburg.
Knuspr has only been represented at its second location in the Rhine-Main region for 50 days. There too, the online supermarket already supplies more than 7,500 customers in the cities of Frankfurt, Mainz, Wiesbaden and Darmstadt. Every day, 800 orders with an average value of 60 euros are received from the region. By Easter, the delivery service expects to receive at least 1,000 orders per day.
The company has now unveiled its expansion plans: Knuspr wants to launch in Hamburg in September this year. Further cities are to follow next year, including Essen and Cologne. The company aims to achieve a market share of 30 percent by 2024. "We will then be represented in all major German metropolitan areas, generate annual sales of 1.2 billion euros and be the number one online food delivery service in Germany," says Knuspr CEO Erich Comor.
Knuspr is a subsidiary of the Czech unicorn Rohlik and was launched in September last year. The online supermarket focuses on a mix of regional products and well-known brands. The company delivers the goods to its customers within three hours of ordering.
