Solaris has a new legal form

The embedded finance platform is now a Societas Europaea (SE). There have also been changes to the Management Board.

First Solarisbank changed its name to Solaris in the summer, now it is also changing its legal form: the company is now a Societas Europaea (SE). The entry in the commercial register was made on December 16, making the conversion legally effective. Solaris is now a European company with its own legal personality, meaning that it can operate throughout the EU as a legal entity with national branches. Among other things, the SE structure simplifies takeovers, making it easier for Solaris to expand across national borders without the need for expensive and time-consuming formalities for subsidiaries in individual countries.

Due to the new organizational structure, Solaris has also changed its Management Board. Carsten Höltkemeyer will become the company's new CEO on May 1st. He has been the designated successor to Roland Folz since November 1st. There will be further changes from January 1st. Chloé Mayenobe will then become Chief Operations Officer (COO). She will also be responsible for international business. Jörg Diewald returns as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), having been Executive Advisor at Solaris in recent months. Ansgar Finken joins the company as Chief Risk Officer (CRO). He comes from BHW Bausparkasse and will be responsible for risk management and compliance. Lee Johnstone is currently still in charge of Solaris' UK subsidiary, but will become Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and part of the extended Management Board as Chief Representative on January 1. Jörg Howein will remain in his position as Chief Platform Officer (CPO), responsible for the product and technology department.

Founded in 2016, the fintech operates a SaaS platform on which companies and other fintechs can process their financial services. The company is headquartered in Berlin. According to Solaris, it has a total of more than 750 employees in Europe and India.
