Consumer advice centers warn off Getir, Gorillas and Co.

Inadequate food labeling and poor contractual conditions - consumer advocates sharply criticize fast delivery services.
In new spot checks, the consumer advice centers have identified two major problems with fast delivery services such as Gorillas and Getir. The labeling of food is inadequate, the consumer advocates warn. Lists of ingredients including allergen labeling, the filling quantity, nutritional labeling, as well as the price including the base price and the origin of the product must actually be indicated legibly. In the random samples, however, these were not at all or only barely recognizable.
The consumer advocates see the second problem in the terms and conditions of the contract. In their opinion, the contract is only actually concluded when the couriers hand over the purchases to the customers. However, they pay for the purchases earlier. The start-ups' general terms and conditions also state that users accept the contract as soon as they send the order.
According to Claudia Both, legal advisor at the consumer advice center in Berlin, this contradicts legal principles. The order or individual products could still be rejected at the front door. According to consumer advocates, Gorillas and Flink have already promised to change these framework conditions. In the case of Getir, the Berlin Regional Court ruled in favor of the consumer association at the beginning of November. However, Getir can still lodge an appeal.
