Tesla Model Y production to start in Grünheide as early as this year

Tesla not only doubled its turnover in the second quarter of 2021, but also delivered more cars than ever before. There is also news for Germany.
News from Grünheide: Tesla has announced that the Model Y will be produced at the factory near Berlin this year, but not this summer as planned. Demand in Germany is currently being met primarily from the factory in Shanghai. At a meeting with shareholders, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and CFO Zach Kirkhorn discussed the results for the second quarter of 2021.
The shortage of chips and raw materials, which has hit companies hard due to the coronavirus pandemic, has not spared Tesla either: the company has postponed delivery of the Semi Truck to 2022. Musk said that the shortage of crucial parts for car production was particularly noticeable in Fermont and Shanghai.
In the second quarter, Tesla's turnover was twelve billion US dollars, compared to six billion US dollars in the same period in 2020. Tesla delivered 200,000 cars, more than ever before. The share price rose by 1.3 percent on Monday evening. Tesla's investment in bitcoins was also of interest: the company had invested 1.5 billion US dollars in bitcoins in February, and Tesla has now recognized a write-down of 23 million US dollars in connection with bitcoins.
