135 million exit: Battery Ventures probably buys Vimcar

According to media reports, the American private equity investor is buying the Berlin-based car and fleet management start-up.
U.S. private equity investor Battery Ventures is buying Berlin-based startup Vimcar. According to information from deutsche-startups.de it will cost the backer 135 million euros. Before Vimcar, Battery Ventures had already invested twice in German companies. In the case of Easy Software from Essen, the investor is taking a stake in a software for document and data archiving, and in the case of Winworker from Goch, in a software solution for craftsmen.
Battery Ventures is now acquiring Vimcar, a connected car and fleet management company. Andreas Schneider, Christian Siewek and Lukas Weber founded the company in 2013 with the idea of connecting vehicles across manufacturers. This is how company cars and fleets are to be digitized.
With this idea, the start-up has raised around 18 million euros in recent years from investors such as Acton Capital, Coparion and Atlantic Labs. In the last financing round in 2019, the company was valued at 45 million euros.
