The logistics startup pyck has raised 2.6 million euros in a seed financing round. The round was led by the European venture capital provider IRIS. XPRESS Ventures, Rethink Ventures, former Dematic CEO John Baysore and other business angels also participated.

Open source for warehouse logistics

pyck specializes in the development of an open-source toolkit that enables companies in warehouse logistics to manage their processes flexibly and with AI support. The software solution is aimed in particular at logistics and e-commerce service providers and is designed to help implementations and process adjustments up to 60 percent faster and more cost-effectively than with traditional warehouse management systems (WMS).

Every warehouse works differently - standard solutions quickly reach their limits. Our architecture allows individual adaptations and the integration of new technologies.

Traditional WMS reach their limits

Traditional WMSs are often seen as monolithic, not very adaptable and technologically outdated. The founding team of pyck, consisting of Dr.-Ing. Daniel Jarr, Maximilian Mack and Matthias Nagel, has many years of experience in the logistics industry and software development. Their aim is to replace rigid IT structures in warehouse management with modular, open systems.

The system will be implemented at three large logistics companies just one year after its market launch. The capital raised will go towards expanding the team, international scaling and new product functions. According to pyck, a new module for the flexible management of data types is about to be launched on the market.

Industry renewal through deep tech

IRIS partner Thorben Rothe explains the investment:"Most warehouse management systems on the market are outdated. pyck's open architecture and AI capability provide the innovative leap that the industry needs." IRIS invests specifically in start-ups with a strong technological foundation and high infrastructure influence. pyck fits perfectly into this strategy.

pyck was founded in 2023 in Schwäbisch Hall, Baden-Württemberg. The company develops a modular toolkit for AI-supported warehouse management on an open source basis. The aim is to give logistics companies more flexibility, customizability and control over their software.
