USD 50 million Series A for Tandem Health

The European healthtech start-up Tandem Health has raised 50 million US dollars in a Series A financing round. The round was led by Kinnevik, with Northzone, Amino Collective and Visionaries Club also participating. The company aims to use AI technology to make medical workflows in Europe more efficient. Germany is one of Tandem Health's core markets.

Medical AI assistant already in use

Tandem Health is developing an AI-supported assistant for medical staff such as doctors, nurses and therapists. The assistant is currently being used in over 1,000 healthcare facilities. These include primary care, mental health care and specialist practices. In the UK, a partnership with Accurx is enabling over 200,000 NHS staff to use AI-powered medical documentation, making it one of the largest implementations of its kind in the world.

Relieving the burden on medical staff

In view of the high administrative burden in the healthcare sector, including documentation, notes and referral management, Tandem aims to relieve the burden with its AI solution. According to the company, these tasks currently take up almost half of the working hours of medical professionals. The new funding should make it possible to meet demand throughout Europe and further develop the platform technologically.

Further development into a comprehensive care platform

In the long term, Tandem plans to expand its technology beyond administrative tasks. The plan is to create an AI-native platform that also covers medical coding, care coordination and clinical decision support. The aim is to reduce friction in the day-to-day work of medical professionals and create more time for patients.
