7.5 million euros seed for oncology AI operating system from Gosta Labs

The Finnish healthtech startup Gosta Labs, founded by the former Kaiku Health founders, has closed a seed financing round of 7.5 million euros. The round was led by Voima Ventures, with COR Group, the Aho family and existing and new investors such as Reaktor and several business angels also participating. Together with the pre-seed round closed in 2024, this brings the company's total funding to almost 10 million euros.

Growing complexity in cancer therapy increases demand for digital assistance systems

The treatment of cancer is becoming increasingly complex. According to forecasts, there could be over 35 million new cases of cancer per year worldwide by 2050. At the same time, clinical teams are working with fragmented systems and unstructured data, resulting in high documentation costs and time-consuming administrative tasks.

Against this backdrop, Gosta Labs is developing an AI-supported operating system that is specifically tailored to the requirements of oncology. The aim is to standardize data structures and make treatment processes clearer, faster and more consistent.

AI system structures patient data in real time

The operating system from Gosta Labs automatically converts information from patient visits into structured data. The software creates summarized, standardized documentation notes and visualizes patient histories. In addition, clinical parameters are automatically classified and decisions are linked to international guidelines.

The automation is intended to improve the quality of care and significantly reduce the administrative workload in clinics. Several healthcare providers in Finland, Switzerland, the Baltic States and Australia are already using the start-up's technology.

Initial results from the clinical environment

Initial evaluations presented at the ESMO Congress 2025 show significant efficiency gains. The system generates real-time documentation in a highly structured form, automatically assigns clinical parameters such as performance status or CTCAE toxicity levels and reduces the time required for follow-up documentation to less than two minutes per case.

According to the lead study physician Dr. Razvan Popescu from the Tumor Center Aargau, the use of the technology significantly reduces the workload of the treating oncologists, as much of the otherwise manual documentation is supported by the AI.

Founding team from the digital health sector

Gosta Labs was founded in 2023 by Lauri Sippola and Henri Viertolahti, who had previously established the digital therapy support company Kaiku Health. This was sold to the radiotherapy provider Elekta in 2020.

The team is complemented by executives from oncology, medical technology and AI research, including Dr. Lionel Hadjadjeba as Chief Medical Officer and Reetta Arokoski as Chief Operating Officer. Both have extensive experience in the international healthcare market.

Financing for international scaling and product development

With the new capital, Gosta Labs plans to further develop its AI operating system in regulatory terms, roll it out internationally and expand the product base for medical specialties. The initial focus will remain on oncology, where the need for digital relief is particularly pronounced.

Investors such as Voima Ventures emphasize the combination of technical expertise, clinical knowledge and startup experience that distinguishes the team and enables the implementation of complex AI products in the medical environment.
