Ambienta Sustainable Credit Opportunities: Final closing exceeds target of EUR 500 million

Ambienta SGR S.p.A., European investment manager in the field of sustainable environmental investments, has successfully completed the final closing of its fund "Ambienta Sustainable Credit Opportunities" (Ambienta Credit). The total commitments exceeded the original target of EUR 500 million.

The fund's credit strategy primarily supports medium-sized companies whose growth is characterized by ecological sustainability. The aim is to financially strengthen so-called environmental champions whose products and services contribute to improving resource efficiency or reducing environmental pollution.

Broad investor base involved

The fund has received commitments from more than 40 institutional investors from Europe, Asia and North America. These include pension funds, insurance companies, foundations and family offices, including APG, European Investment Fund, Fondazione ENPAM, Generali Asset Management, UK Environment Agency Pension Fund and VER.

The broad support highlights the growing demand for sustainable lending solutions that combine environmental impact with solid returns.

Focus on environmental impact and financial strength

Ambienta uses its proprietary environmental impact measurement methodology to target credit investments to companies that have a positive environmental impact. To date, the team has examined around 600 potential transactions and implemented 13 investments, with an invested volume of around 300 million euros. The companies have average EBITDA margins in the double-digit range and sales growth of over 10 percent.

Expansion of position in the sustainable credit market

The final closing strengthens Ambienta's position as a provider of sustainable lending solutions for European SMEs. The fund will continue to work closely with companies, private equity firms and corporates to provide flexible capital solutions that meet both financial and environmental objectives.
