Andrea Wickleder becomes Managing Director of Mediatech Hub Potsdam
Wickleder has been with Mediatech Hub Potsdam for more than three years. As Hub Manager, she helped to build up the company.
At the beginning of next month, Andrea Wickleder will take over the management of Mediatech Hub Potsdam. Previously, the position was shared by Jeannine Koch, CEO of Medianet Berlinbrandenburg, and Peter Effenberg, Managing Director of Transfermedia Production Services. Medianet and Transfermedia will remain shareholders in the media technology hub.
Wickleder has already been working at the Mediatech Hub Potsdam for over three years. As Hub Manager, she helped build up the company and represented Potsdam as part of the Digital Hub Initiative at trade fairs and conferences such as the international festival for creative tech, film, music and media SXSW in Austin. She also supported the implementation of joint formats, such as "XR in Industries", together with the Digital Hubs Stuttgart and Berlin.
"It has been incredibly exciting to follow the dynamics of the location in recent years," says Wickleder. "It will continue to be about involving the players at the location and promoting close cooperation within the Digital Hub Initiative." To this end, Wickleder would like to launch a service called "Ideate" together with the Potsdam-based company Interlake. Small and medium-sized companies and corporates can develop new technologies in mixed reality workshops and try out their application.
The Mediatech Hub Potsdam is an association of media and technology companies, start-ups, universities and research institutions. It is one of the twelve digital hubs supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. New audio and video technologies for the entertainment sector, industry and SMEs are developed at the Potsdam location. In 2019, the Mediatech Hub, the University of Potsdam, the Film University Babelsberg and the Hasso Plattner Institute initiated the Mediatech Hub Accelerator. More than 30 start-ups are now part of the Accelerator's portfolio.
