Andrea Wickleder becomes Managing Director at Mediatech Hub Potsdam

Wickleder has been with Mediatech Hub Potsdam for more than three years. As Hub Manager, she helped build up the company.

At the beginning of next month, Andrea Wickleder will take over the management of Mediatech Hub Potsdam. Previously, Medianet Berlinbrandenburg CEO Jeannine Koch and Transfermedia Production Services CEO Peter Effenberg shared the position. Medianet and Transfermedia remain shareholders in the media technology hub.

Wickleder has been with Mediatech Hub Potsdam for more than three years. As hub manager, she helped build the company and represented Potsdam as part of the Digital Hub Initiative at trade shows and conferences such as the SXSW international festival for creative tech, film, music and media in Austin. She also supported the implementation of joint formats, for example "XR in Industries", together with the Digital Hubs Stuttgart and Berlin.

"Following the dynamics of the site over the last few years is incredibly exciting," Wickleder says. "It will continue to be about engaging the players at the site and fostering close collaboration within the Digital Hub Initiative." To that end, Wickleder wants to partner with Potsdam-based Interlake to launch a service called "Ideate." Small and medium-sized companies and corporates can work on new technologies in mixed reality workshops and try out their application.

The Mediatech Hub Potsdam is an association of media and technology companies, start-ups, universities and research institutions. It is one of the twelve Digital Hubs supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. At the Potsdam location, new audio and video technologies are developed for the entertainment sector, industry and SMEs. In 2019, the Mediatech Hub, the University of Potsdam, Babelsberg Film University and the Hasso Plattner Institute initiated the Mediatech Hub Accelerator. More than 30 startups are now part of the Accelerator's portfolio.
