Aperture Finance secures USD 12 million in Series A funding

The DeFi platform Aperture Finance secures Series A financing and reaches a valuation of USD 250 million. The company aims to revolutionize DeFi usage with AI-powered tools and backs big-name investors.
Mountain View, California, May 30, 2024 - Aperture Finance, a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform, has successfully closed a Series A funding round. The company reached a valuation of USD 250 million. Aperture has now raised a total of USD 12 million.
The investors
The financing round was led by prominent venture capital firms such as Skyland Ventures, Blockchain Founders Fund and Krypital Group. Well-known investors such as Alchemy, SNZ and Stratified Capital also participated. Investors such as ParaFi Capital, Arrington Capital and Divergence were involved in previous rounds.
Our goal is to lower the learning curve in DeFi and provide our users with more strategic options. We want to offer the same level of execution and pricing that is usually reserved for large institutions.
Peter Tan, Head of Product at Aperture Finance
Simplified defi operations
Aperture Finance uses an innovative approach called "Intents" to simplify complex DeFi operations. Users can specify their desired outcomes, making it easier to interact with DeFi protocols and improving accessibility. The platform uses Uniswap V3 and allows users to declare end goals such as liquidity settlement at specific price points. Transactions are only executed when these conditions are met.
The platform is already in use on nine EVM-compatible trading chains and processes a transaction volume of over USD 2.7 billion. More than 280,000 users use the platform, including over 15,000 daily active users.
Intents' architecture bridges the gap between sophisticated financial strategies and everyday DeFi users. This makes advanced DeFi tools accessible to a wider audience.
Yonkuro, Head of Crypto at Skyland Ventures
Aperture Finance plans to further expand its Large Language Model (LLM) interface. This interface converts user intentions expressed in natural language into a domain-specific language. This can then be encoded in the blockchain. This should increase the precision of user instructions and facilitate access to complex financial instruments.
The new funding will support the further development of Aperture's Intents infrastructure. In addition, the solver network will be expanded and the user experience improved through the upcoming LLM integration.
Token launch is imminent
Following a successful airdrop campaign in which over 300,000 users participated, Aperture Finance plans to launch its $APTR token on Bybit on May 31, 2024.
Aperture Finance is a pioneer in the field of AI-powered intents to improve the DeFi experience. With the IntentsGPT interface and an AI-driven solver simulation, Aperture's network provides institutional-grade intelligence to any DeFi user. The founding team includes experts from Amazon Web Services, Google, Stanford, Cornell and UC Berkeley, as well as Citadel, JPMorgan Chase and AIG. Aperture was a member of Binance Labs' Most Valuable Builder V cohort and participated in the CoinMarketCap (CMC) Accelerator and HK Cyberport Incubation Programs.
