The robotics company Apptronik has expanded its Series A financing to a total of more than USD 935 million. An extension round (Series A-X) of USD 520 million follows a first tranche of USD 415 million that was already oversubscribed in 2025. This brings the company's total capital raised close to the one billion US dollar mark.

Existing investors include B Capital, Google, Mercedes-Benz and PEAK6. New investors include AT&T Ventures, John Deere and the sovereign wealth fund Qatar Investment Authority (QIA). The expansion round was carried out at three times the valuation of the original Series A. A signal of the continued high level of investor interest in AI-supported robotics.

Capital for production, market launch and infrastructure

Apptronik intends to use the fresh capital to ramp up production of its humanoid robot Apollo™ and expand the international rollout in commercial applications and pilot projects. The company is also planning to invest in training and data acquisition infrastructure in order to scale up real-life application scenarios more quickly and develop new use cases for customers in industry, logistics and retail.

At the same time, the further development of the human-centered robotics platform is to be driven forward. The launch of a new generation of robots has already been announced for 2026.

Partnerships with industry and AI research

Apptronik works with several global industrial companies, including Mercedes-Benz, GXO Logistics and Jabil. In addition, there is a strategic cooperation with Google DeepMind to develop the next generation of humanoid robotic systems based on Gemini technology.

Focus on labor-intensive industrial processes

The humanoid robot Apollo is initially designed for applications in manufacturing and logistics. There, it takes on physically demanding and repetitive tasks such as material transportation, sorting or order picking and is intended to work alongside human workers. In the future, the company also sees fields of application in retail, healthcare and, in the long term, in the private sector.

Apptronik emerged from the Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Texas at Austin and currently employs around 300 people. The development of Apollo builds on almost a decade of research and previous robotics projects, including work on NASA's Valkyrie robot.
