Aramco Ventures opens new office in Paris

Aramco Ventures, the venture capital arm of Saudi Arabian energy company Aramco, plans to open a new office in Paris in 2026. With this expansion, the company aims to further expand its global innovation strategy and invest in cutting-edge technologies that support Aramco's diversification and transformation goals in the energy sector.

Focus on Europe's innovation ecosystem

France is considered one of the leading innovation hubs in the European Union, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, industrial digitalization and quantum computing. Initiatives such as the National Quantum Strategy and government investment in AI have made the country an attractive location for global technology investment. In addition, French universities and research institutions, such as the University of Paris-Saclay, have internationally recognized expertise in mathematics, physics and engineering. Innovation platforms such as Station F, the world's largest startup campus, also contribute to the dynamism of the ecosystem.

The new office will give Aramco Ventures direct access to this network of start-ups, research institutions, investors and technology companies.

Expansion of existing activities in France

Aramco is already active in France. A research center in Paris focuses on energy, mobility and environmental technologies. In addition, Aramco Ventures has already invested in French start-ups, including Pasqal, a quantum computing company, and Prophesee, a developer of neuromorphic vision technologies. With the new office, the company plans to intensify its collaboration with founders, institutions and investors and support the scaling of technologies in the fields of AI, quantum computing, deep tech and sustainability.

With over USD 7 billion in capital, Aramco Ventures invests globally in startups and high-growth companies of strategic importance to Aramco. The focus is on decarbonization technologies, new low-carbon fuels and digital transformation initiatives. Aramco Ventures also operates Prosperity7, a program for disruptive technologies.
