Atmen automates the regulatory verification of low-CO₂ industrial products and is supported by ex-TÜV CEO Axel Stepken and Martina Merz.

Munich, June 3, 2025 - The Munich-based RegTech startup Atmen has closed a seed financing round of 5 million euros. The round is led by Berlin-based VC Project A, with Axel Stepken (former CEO of TÜV SÜD), Martina Merz (former CEO of ThyssenKrupp) and serial founder and angel investor Christian Vollmann also participating. Together with existing investors such as Revent and Vireo Ventures, this brings the total funding to 6.3 million euros.

In a world where supply chains increasingly need to be low-carbon and traceable, Atmen is creating the infrastructure on which Europe's industries can tap into new markets.

Mila Cramer, Principal at Project A

Digital backbone for green industrial products

Atmen is developing a platform that automates industrial sustainability certifications, especially for energy-intensive products such as green hydrogen, e-fuels, steel and fertilizers. The system replaces paper-based audits with real-time data monitoring along the entire supply chain. Producers, traders, certifiers and auditors work in a unified system.

We are turning a regulatory bottleneck into a strategic advantage for European industries. What used to take months now happens continuously and traceably - creating trust and market access.

Flore de Durfort, CEO and Co-Founder Atmen

Focus on Europe with international rollout

The funding will be used to expand the team, develop the platform functionally and open up new industrial sectors such as chemicals and heavy industry. Atmen's technology is already in use at locations in nine countries, including customers such as Lhyfe, Schneider Electric and TÜV NORD.
