The Berlin-based start-up Bounti has raised 4 million euros in fresh capital. The financing round was led by venture capital investor Ventech. Other investors include IBB Ventures, Robin Capital and Common Magic.

Several business angels also participated in the round, including Paul Forster, founder of Indeed, as well as Koen Bok and Jorn van Dijk, who founded the design tool Framer.

The company intends to use the capital to further develop its AI-supported platform and expand more strongly into sectors of the so-called physical economy.

Focus on operational work instead of office software

While many applications of artificial intelligence have so far been geared towards digital activities such as writing, programming or analysis, Bounti focuses on operational work environments.

These include the catering, hotel and retail industries, for example. Companies in these sectors often face challenges such as staff shortages, high staff turnover, language barriers and rising costs.

Platform for operational processes in branch structures

The Bounti platform is primarily aimed at companies with many locations. In such structures, problems often arise not at a strategic level, but in day-to-day operations.

The software analyzes operational processes, identifies problems and derives specific measures from this. These include, for example, training for employees, quality improvement tasks or indications of operational weaknesses.

Software directly for everyday work on site

According to the company, the platform is used directly in day-to-day operations. It is designed to provide information to employees where they work, for example in branches or restaurants.

Customers include LAP Coffee, BackWerk, Coffee Fellows, Peter Pane and L'Osteria.

Burgermeister also uses the platform in its daily operations. According to Chief Operating Officer Leander Brune, the solution helps to pass on information to teams more quickly and simplify internal processes.

Founder relies on AI for operational processes

Bounti was founded by Deniz Bayraktaroglu, who previously worked in the hotel industry himself. This experience gave rise to the idea of gearing software more towards day-to-day operations.

The system should not only analyze data, but also automatically trigger measures, such as training or specific tasks for teams on site. The start-up intends to use the fresh capital to further expand its platform and extend its use in companies with many locations.
