BlinqIO secures 4.6 million euros for US expansion

The generative AI platform BlinqIO has received 4.6 million euros in a financing round. Led by Flint Capital, the capital will be used to expand operations in the US.
BlinqIO, a generative AI platform for software testing, has closed a €4.6 million financing round. This round was led by the US fund Flint Capital from Boston and executives from Silicon Valley. This capital injection is intended to help the first AI-powered test automation engineer expand operations in the US and address the shortage of test programmers in companies worldwide. BlinqIO provides a solution for businesses and software teams by performing test scripts and maintenance through generative AI without human intervention.
Backed by major investors
Investors alongside Flint Capital include Inovia Capital Precede Fund I, led by Patrick Pichette, former CFO of Google and former Chairman of Twitter, and Raif Jacobs, former CFO of Deliveroo, TAL Ventures and SeedIL. BlinqIO was founded by Israeli entrepreneurs Tal Barmeir and Guy Arieli and launched in 2023. The company is headquartered in Delaware, USA. Founders Barmeir and Arieli previously founded Experitest and developed its SeeTest SaaS platform for digital test automation, which was eventually acquired by TPG and renamed Digital.ai.
AI-supported test automation
BlinqIO uses generative AI and Large Language Modeling (LLM). The AI test engineer understands requirements and makes decisions on how to implement them by creating and autonomously maintaining test automation code (Playwright). In addition, the AI test engineer has multilingual capabilities and can work with over 50 different languages, increasing efficiency for websites and apps for banks, travel companies, airlines, retail and more.
This funding round will allow the company to open new offices in the US and increase its current headcount of 15.
Growth of the software testing market
The software testing market shows no signs of slowing down. Figures from Technavio show that it is expected to grow by €14.71 billion globally by 2027. Furthermore, figures from Grand View Research show that the global automation testing market will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.3% from 2023 to 2030.
Statements on financing
Commenting on this latest funding and the company's growth plans, BlinqIO co-founder Tal Barmeir said: "We are excited to receive funding from leading investors that will allow us to expand operations in the US. BlinqIO supports the software development industry by removing bottlenecks in test automation and providing developers with instant feedback. This investment will support further market expansion and strengthen our position in the field of AI-driven autonomous software testing."
Sergey Gribov, General Partner at Flint Capital, commented on the latest investment: "Flint Capital selectively invests in startups that we can support on their development path. BlinqIO is a promising project both in terms of its product and its founders. Tal Barmeir and Guy Arieli have already brought a successful product to market in a similar industry. We are confident that our collaboration will be successful."
