The startup Carelane has completed pre-seed financing in the amount of €800,000. The funds will be used to expand the clinical trial platform and increase efficiency in clinical research

Berlin, June 20, 2024 - Health-tech startup Carelane has successfully closed a pre-seed financing round of €800,000. The round was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and will support Carelane in the market launch of its clinical research software in Europe and the US.

Innovative platform for clinical trials

Carelane has developed a unified platform that integrates many functions and relies on digitized study protocols and processes. This approach reduces inefficiencies and significantly lowers costs in clinical trials. The platform includes functions such as data management, eConsent, tokenization, sample tracking, drug supply and patient monitoring. By digitizing and automating these processes, complexity is reduced and efficiency is increased.

Proven successes

Carelane has already achieved considerable success. For example, the workload of study management was reduced by more than 80% for the first customer. The platform enables seamless integration and continuous alignment of study design, execution and analysis, avoiding costly study adjustments.

Carelane provides an all-in-one platform that makes expensive and inefficient clinical trials more efficient. By standardizing the entire clinical trial process, Carelane provides strong added value for patients and research partners.

Future plans

Carelane plans to use the new capital to expand its reach in Europe and the USA. The platform will be enhanced with features to capture source data from electronic health records (EHRs) and AI capabilities to lay the groundwork for an upcoming seed funding round.

Carelane is a health tech startup focused on eliminating inefficiencies in clinical trials. Founded in 2023, Carelane has quickly gained customers and successfully closed its first funding round. The founders have extensive experience in health tech and have worked with the German government, private companies and renowned research hospitals. Their vision is to accelerate medical research and innovation and make the clinical trial process intuitive, efficient and seamlessly integrated.
