CarOnSale cooperates with Mercedes-Benz for digital B2B vehicle auctions

CarOnSale launches auction platform for lease returns. European Mercedes-Benz dealers benefit from digitized vehicle auctions. CarOnSale now offers access to exclusive offers and automated purchasing processes.

Berlin, November 11, 2024 - Berlin-based digital marketplace CarOnSale and Mercedes-Benz have announced their collaboration to launch an exclusive B2B auction platform for lease returns across Europe. The cooperation is aimed at commercial Mercedes-Benz dealers in Europe, who will now have access to a protected online marketplace for vehicles. The auction platform will be launched in Austria and expanded to France in January 2025 to gradually reach the whole of Europe.

The collaboration between CarOnSale and Mercedes-Benz

As a strategic partner of Mercedes-Benz Sales, CarOnSale will be the central platform for the Europe-wide remarketing of lease returns and demo vehicles from Mercedes-Benz national companies. CarOnSale, an established company in the field of digital used car marketing, is providing its technical infrastructure and expertise in data management and digitalization for the new platform. The cooperation aims to digitize the processes involved in vehicle remarketing and to sustainably strengthen the value chain in Mercedes-Benz sales.

With the new B2B auction platform, participating Mercedes-Benz dealers can bid on leased vehicles in a three-stage bidding process. The auctions will start in Austria and will be extended to other European markets in the coming months.

Exclusive access and three auction phases

The platform has been designed to optimally meet the needs of the Mercedes-Benz dealer network. Dealers benefit from exclusive access to the vehicles in a three-stage auction structure, which enables participants to access the vehicles on offer flexibly and promptly.

In the first auction phase, the lease returns and demo vehicles of the Mercedes-Benz national companies are exclusively available to the dealers of the respective country. In the second phase, all participating Mercedes-Benz partners in Europe will have access to the vehicles on offer. In the third and final phase, registered dealers outside the Mercedes-Benz network can also take part in the auction.

This multi-stage approach is intended to ensure that the vehicles are initially marketed nationally and regionally in order to make them accessible to a wider circle later on if required. This ensures greater transparency in the auction process and gives dealers access to a larger selection of vehicles.

Efficient process integration and digitalized purchase processing

The CarOnSale platform offers comprehensive process integration, allowing dealers to benefit from a fully digitalized process. The functions offered include transport options, financing options, tax processing and complaints management. The aim is to make the process as efficient and smooth as possible for all parties involved.
