Cinector raises 2.5 million euros

The start-up develops virtual communication spaces for online meetings. Now a fund from the Free State of Saxony is getting involved.
The Saxon start-up Cinector raises 2.5 million euros in its seed financing round. "Bringing the performance of a Hollywood studio to the office" - that is the start-up's vision. The seed round is led by Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS), based in Leipzig.
The founders originally consulted a special effects team for a Hollywood production. Then Thomas Schmieder, Tobias Tauscher and Enrico Pisko transferred their knowledge from the film industry to corporate communications and founded Cinector in 2015. The start-up wants to enable high-quality virtual presentations. These consist of virtual communication rooms, which are intended to make presentations as tangible as in a face-to-face meeting. The creation of virtual showrooms and video presentations is to become "as easy as a PowerPoint presentation."
With the newly received capital, Cinector plans to further develop its product and invest in new markets. The money will also go into its research and development department "Cinector Labs," which will integrate AI capabilities into the product.
