Climatiq receives two million US dollars

The Berlin-based start-up announces the successful completion of its financing round. Cherry Ventures was one of the investors.
Berlin-based startup Climatiq has raised two million US dollars in its pre-seed funding round. Early-stage investor Cherry Ventures led the round. A number of business angels also gave money, including Indeed founder Paul Forster's family office and Jens Lapinski of Angel Invest.
Climatiq offers a data infrastructure designed to enable organizations and developers to build new climate-smart applications. This includes an open database for emission factors. Anyone who links this to other software can then read the impact of their business on the climate. Companies can use it to accurately calculate their carbon footprint and monitor emissions in real time.
"We are very excited to partner with investors who share our vision of empowering everyone to fight the climate crisis," says co-founder and CEO Hessam Lavi. There were still ten years left to curb global warming. With the money it has now raised, the startup wants to expand its open database and make it more useful for developers and organizations.
