Cluby raises 2.9 million euros to support restaurants in Europe with digital customer loyalty. The platform offers cost-effective solutions for smaller restaurants

Helsinki, Finland July 2, 2024 - Finnish startup Cluby has raised 2.9 million euros in a seed round. Investors include Vendep Capital, Cluby co-founder and investor Pekka Koskinen and Wolt co-founder Elias Aalto. The company plans to use the funds to expand in Europe and make its platform accessible to a broader target group.

Digitalization in the hospitality industry

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated digitalization in the food service industry. Many large chains such as McDonald's and Starbucks have developed their own apps to connect with their customers. However, such solutions are often too expensive for smaller restaurants, bars, cafés or nightclubs. They are therefore limited to social media marketing, newsletters or physical loyalty cards.

A central platform for all needs

Cluby provides a user-friendly and cost-effective platform for restaurants and other venues to engage with their customers. The platform enables the management of customer registers, the sale of digital products such as monthly subscriptions, tickets and VIP passes, the offering of member benefits, the development of personalized loyalty programs and the creation of marketing campaigns to drive repeat business. Everything is managed in one central, easy-to-use app, which is also useful for restaurant customers as they only need to download one app to stay in touch with all their favorite bars, cafés, restaurants and nightclubs.

Experienced founders with a successful track record

The founding trio of Cluby consists of experienced startup entrepreneurs Kalle Ek, Joel Leino and Pekka Koskinen. Koskinen is best known as the founder of Leadfeeder, a company that specializes in identifying sales leads from website visitors. A few years ago, Leadfeeder was sold abroad in a deal worth 180 million euros.
